Welcome to Father Rosensteel Council. The Knights of
Columbus is the largest fraternal, family oriented, service organization of
Catholic gentlemen in the world, with over 1,700,000 members. From its
founding as a small, local Connecticut organization in 1882, the Order, while continuing
to consist of small Councils dedicated to local parish and family life, has
also become a powerful international force for good in support of Church and
State, so much so that our founder, Fr. Michael J. McGivney,
is being considered for Canonization.
The Order as a whole and our Council in particular
have much to offer, so if you are a Catholic man you really should find out about our council and about the Knights. Maybe
you'd like to learn how to join
the Knights. A good way to start learning what we Knights do and what the
Order is really all about is to read some of our Council and State Newsletters available on
line. You may be impressed by the number and variety of activities available
to members.
With over 1200 members, Fr. Rosensteel Council is one
of the largest and most active Councils and a proud member of the Maryland State Council. We are also
active participants in the Cardinal
O'Boyle Assembly of the Fourth Degree and the McNamara
Chapter of Grand Knights. Check out all that we are doing, and if you are
in our area, drop in and see us at our Council Home. A map is provided. Our Clubhouse Corporation operates a
Catering Service
with beautiful ballrooms
available for wedding receptions and other parties.
We plan to be constantly adding to and improving
these Web pages. Thanks to all the other Councils, from
whom we have plagiarized freely. Please return the compliment if you find
anything here that you like. We'd certainly like to hear from you if you have
any suggestions, comments or questions. Many of our Officers and members can be contacted via
email, including webmaster Joseph
M. Marks, PGK and Grand Knight George
C. Carter whose slogan appears above.
